SUMMARY:ACES: NEC Simulated Annealing on Vector Engine (Vector Annealing)
DESCRIPTION:This short course (2.5 hours) introduces researchers to simulat
ed quantum annealing using the ACES cluster, a composable accelerator test
-bed at Texas A&M University. NEC Vector Annealing is a unique implementa
tion for simulated quantum annealing on NEC's Vector Engine hardware. This
solution can be used to efficiently narrow down the search range of solut
ions for combinatorial optimization problems by utilizing various constrai
nts imposed in practical situations. The NEC Vector Annealing Service perf
orms matrix calculations with a large capacity memory, ultra high speed pr
ocessing of large scale combination problems on the vector processor. This
session has been designed to help users understand the concept of quantum
annealing, introduce them to the solution stack of NEC Vector annealing, a
nd undertake programming exercises to solve combinatorial optimization pro
blems in hands on sessions.Read more about this course at https://hprc.tam
