SUMMARY:Anton 3 RFP is Open! Two Webinars available on September 22!
DESCRIPTION:The third-generation Anton is the first and only resource avail
able to the research community capable of simulating multiple millions of
atoms at speeds of microseconds per day, thus achieving biologically relev
ant timescales in a timely manner. Learn more at our September 22 webinar
s at https://www.psc.edu/resources/anton/Anton systems were designed to v
astly accelerate the process of molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. With A
nton, biomedical researchers can gain valuable insight into the motions an
d interactions of proteins and other biologically important molecules. The
MD research community uses Anton at PSC to investigate significant biolog
ical phenomena that due in part to their intrinsically long timescales hav
e been outside the reach of even the most powerful general-purpose superco
mputers. The third-generation Anton is the first and only resource availabl
e to the community capable of simulating multiple millions of atoms at spe
eds of microseconds per day, thus achieving biologically relevant timescal
es in a timely manner. The ability to simulate millions of atoms in a reas
onable timeframe will bring new understanding of large biological systems
such as viruses and ribosomes and of phenomena that occur in the milliseco
nd timescale, such as protein folding, aggregation, and membrane deformati
ons.Anton at PSC is made available without cost by DESRES for non-commerci
al research use by US universities and other not-for-profit institutions,
and is hosted by PSC with operational support from the NIH National Instit
ute of General Medical Sciences.Contact anton-support@psc.edu with any que
 stions about Anton at PSC.
