SUMMARY:Introduction to Chameleon: A Configurable Experimental Platform for
  AI and Computer Science Research
DESCRIPTION:Chameleon is a large-scale, reconfigurable experimental platfor
m funded by NSF and built to support computer science systems research, ed
ucation, and emerging applications including AI/ML. Having served 13,000+
users to date, Chameleon allows researchers, educators, and students to wo
rk directly with state-of-the-art computing resources typically beyond the
reach of individual users — and complements national AI research infras
tructure in the NAIRR ecosystem by providing a highly configurable, experi
ment-focused environment. This webinar provides an accessible introduction
to Chameleon's capabilities for the NAIRR community. We will cover how to
get started with Chameleon, including the project application process and
available support for researchers, students, and classes. Attendees will l
earn about Chameleon's unique features — including bare metal access, ad
vanced reservation systems, power monitoring, and edge computing resources
  — and see live demonstrations using the Chameleon web portal and progra
mmatic tools like python-chi and Jupyter notebooks. We will also highlight
real-world use cases from Chameleon's community, spanning AI and machine
learning, reproducibility, energy-efficient computing, and systems researc
