SUMMARY:Linux Bash Shell Scripting (COMPLECS)
DESCRIPTION:Shell scripting is an effective tool for boosting productivity 
 and reducing errors in HPC workflows. Shell scripts can be used to streaml
 ine pre- and post-processing tasks, automate repetitive tasks, backups, an
 d system monitoring. In this session, we assume participants have experien
 ce with basic Linux operations on command-line tools.  We will build on t
 he one line Linux tools learned in “Linux tools for text processing” 
  to combine and use them in an automated, systematic fashion. Topics cove
 red include an introduction to shells, shell scripting syntax, constructs 
 and operators, and tips for effective Bash shell scripting.
