Granite is NCSA’s tape archive system to provide users with a place to store long-term archive datasets. The Spectra TFinity tape library uses 20 LTO-9 tape drives and can hold over 300PB of replicated data.

Granite has no interactive login shell, batch scheduler, or compute nodes. Data moves in and out through Globus and S3 (see Data Management).
