Project Description As part of CEMA's work with the NSF EPScoR Project WiCCED, we are interfacing with projects that require help with data hosting and web visualizations. This project is aimed at ingesting microbial analytics from soil samples taken in locations throughout Delaware by citizens into a database that will support a web app that will be used to share “status” updates to researchers and the general public participating in citizen science. Each soil sample is analyzed and summaries of the microbial analyses are then shared back with the citizen scientists and other researchers to help understand patterns of microbial distribution and function in the environment.

Project Tasks Include:
* Scripting for data ingest into and update data in a PostgreSQL database:
-- Parsing CSV using Python (or another language)
-- Connecting to the database (getting, inserting, and update data)
* Leveraging the data into a web application:
-- Creating a web service that queries the database and returns JSON for web display
-- Developing maps and linked queries from web service to visualize data
* Project and Code Documentation
