Using population genetic models to resolve and predict dispersal kernels of marine larvae
Integral Consulting, Inc.

We are working with Penn State University and were awarded NSF award number OCE-2334798. The project represents the next step in the development of the Diversity of the Indo-Pacific Network (DIPnet), an NSF-funded Research Coordination Network created by the PIs and SPs to promote collaborative research on ecology and evolution in the biodiverse Indo-Pacific. Ultimately, this information will serve to develop a conservation portfolio approach in conjunction with local stakeholder engagement. The aim of the project is to understand the spatial distribution of planktonic dispersal events of tiny larvae by combining biophysical models, empirical theory and hydrodynamic information.  We are submitting a request to use the ACCESS resources to support the modeling twenty years of hydrodynamics in the Indo-Pacific.

Issue: I am teaching a web development course (MERN stack) and do not have a deployment set up. I would like to use Jetstream2 because they offer instances with IP addresses. I have enough allocations for 20 students to each have their own instance. I was able to build a MERN stack and deploy a static react site, but the backend MongoDB piece, while connected, did not serve up data. I cannot figure out why. Helpdesk at Jetstream suggest trying a docker container, which makes sense but obviously if I can’t get it working one way I’ll need help.

Hello,

I applied MATCHPlus because I am a new user of ACCESS source. I used to work on the superconductors of Holland Computer Center. I just got access to Expanse today. And I tried a few features I am not familiar with on Expanse and I met a lot difficulties. So I do need a mentor to help me to go through the transferring, even though I am not sure now whether this request is included in your scope.

I need to use the softwares of python, jupyter notebooks, VASP, Lammps, USPEX, containers like singularity and docker. I am also interested in Pegasus to create my pipeline. However, I cannot understand how to use Pegasus to operate the files on Expanse. I am excited to study some software that can help me to accelerate my project. Can you give me some advices to work wisely? I really need an immediate help. Thank you!

Best,
Yinglu
